The concepts are authentic as they do not suffice with borrowing their connotations from western sources only, yet solicit those connotations from Arabic lexicon, Quran, Sunnah and Islamic heritage in addition to western sources. Hence, connotations are broader and more authentic.

The reason why these authentic concepts are for all of Umma’s sciences is that these concepts are interchangeable concepts used in all of Umma’s sciences, either human or universal. All these sciences combine by their nature between guidance of revelation and guidance of the universe. In these sciences, the universe and human sciences are inseparable from revelation sciences. Revelation sciences are not isolated from human and universal sciences. Anyone reading in universal and human Islamic sciences in prosperity ages will find this knowledge integration in all branches of sciences, which was created and flourished in the arms of Islamic guidance in Quran and Sunnah. We don’t find sharp separation between spiritual and material enhancement or universe and revelation guidance. If we returned back to Muslims’ works in all of religious, human or universal sciences fields, we would find all of this knowledge integration that was merged and mixed in a Muslim’s brain, soul and practical production throughout the age of prosperity until the western civilization consolidated its values, civilization and knowledge institution over the world, where its modernized thoughts and concepts prevailed in separation from eastern cultures.

In the framework of efforts to revive Islamic culture, self-presence and spirituality, the International Institute of Islamic Thought project came through this work. Formulating Authentic Concepts sought to construct original and serious knowledge structures through reviving sets of concepts related to various cultural and scientific fields.

The book in its two parts and 16 chapters aims to  deconstruct and reconstruct a set of concepts that have been emptied of its civilized and Islamic content and been engulfed in imported modernized levels not suitable for the Islamic environment. This is what is mentioned in chapters: 1 “Religion concept”, 2 “Knowledge concept”, 3 “Humans concept”, 4 “World concept”, 5 “Learner concept”, 6 “Morals concept”, 7 “Peace concept in Quran” and chapter 8 “Fundamentalism concept”.

The previous concepts have faced a systematic process of distortion and counterfeiting that aimed to empty them of their essence and transform them to a dead body without any effectiveness. This is what the chapters of this study seek to address through a professional process that aimed at reaching to the roots forming those concepts in Islamic experience.

The guided, justly balanced Umma is the one that positions in the frontlines of cognitive and intellectual battles to be witnesses to people for reporting the Lord’s message. The book seeks to introduce Islamic view in thorny concepts like “Media concept” in chapter 9 and “State concept” in chapter 10.

The book focuses on working on offering solutions that could save the critical situation of the global economy. This study prefers to revive a set of concepts with Islamic stain of which discussion may have an impact on presenting ideas out of the secular box and modernization iron cage. This is addressed in chapters 11 “Economy concept”, 12 “Succession concept”, 13 “Reconstruction concept”, 14 “Finance concept”,  and 15 “Economic Rationality concept”.

This encyclopedic study concludes its chapters with introducing Islamic viewpoint in “Human Rights concept”. The most outstanding thing in the book in our hands is its reliance on clear scientific methodology in constructing concepts that would enable relying on it in rooting more and more of Umma’s sciences in order to achieve science accumulation and save the permanence of Ummah. It is an invitation for discussion and intellectual interactions between interested sons of Ummah who are concerned with the issue of restoring its civilization and scientific leadership.  It is characterized by the multiplicity of reading authored by a group of professors specializing in their fields, led by Professor Dr. Al-Sayyid Omar, Professor Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Naqeeb, Dr. Muhammad Abdul-Saleheen, Dr. Nimat Mashhour, and other thinkers and professors.
