Immigration is considered one of the most significant issues facing Europe lately due to the increase in immigrants and refugees’ numbers, especially those coming through the Mediterranean Sea from the Middle East in particular. The study demonstrates the concept of immigration, illegal immigration and the reasons that force people to leave their countries and head towards Europe facing a lot of dangers in order to get there.

The study discusses the reasons that make Europe confront immigration in a security approach and the mechanisms followed by the Union’s countries to stop this phenomenon besides the role of actors within the Union in dealing with this issue and whether there is a stable principle in dealing with it or there is a change in policies pursuant to time change.

The study endeavors to explain European trends resulting from acts of terrorism that took place in some European countries and caused a change in dealing with the issue besides the ascension of the extremist right parties that call for foreclosing immigrants and deporting them and the spread of acts of violence towards immigrants.

The study concludes the change that Europe should make to its look at the countries of the south and the observation of the real reasons for immigration through providing political aid to achieve stability in many countries and providing economic aid to step up development in order to reduce or stop the phenomenon.
